This year students from 23 states and Puerto Rico have won awards in the “Fight the Bite” poster contest, co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the DEET Education Program. Begun in 2007, the contest invites fifth- and sixth-graders to create educational posters encouraging children and adults to protect themselves against mosquito and tick bites and the diseases they can cause.

Announcing the 2008 Human Rights DayPoster Contest for students K-12

All Minnesota students in grades kindergarten through senior high school are eligible to compete in the 2008 Human Rights Day Poster Contest. Contestants are asked to present in art form what they think the Human Rights Day theme from Johnnie Carr means in our society today. Students will compete in four grade level categories -- Grades K-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8 and Grades 9-12 -- with judging based on clarity of message, originality, creativity, and neatness. DEADLINEEntries must be postmarked by Thursday, October 2, 2008.

AWARDSFirst, second and third place winning posters will be published in a 2009 full color calendar, and will also be displayed on Human Rights Collaborative web sites. Finalists will be honored at the 25th annual Human Rights Day conference, Friday, December 5, 2008 at Saint Paul RiverCentre.

The contest is sponsored by The Human Rights Collaborative which includes the League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions, The Advocates for Human Rights, Advocating Change Together, Tolerance Minnesota, the University of Minnesota Human Rights Center, and the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.

2008 Poster Contest

The 2008 Poster contest theme is “Water is Life.” All states must submit their winning posters for the 2008 contest by December 1, 2008 to NACD National Poster Contest, Susan Schultz, 968 East 600 North, Greenfield, IN 46140.Each entry must have the 2008 Contest Entry Form (linked below) filled out and signed by guardian or parent to be judged. All districts must fill out the District Form and include it with entries to area or state contests.

紐約勵馨舉辦「愛我們的家」兒童繪畫比賽

讓愛天天住你家,讓愛天天住我家,不分日月秋冬春夏,全心全意愛我們的家!紐約勵馨家暴防治中心舉辦「愛我們的家」兒童繪畫比賽,期望從孩子的彩繪中,探索「家」對他們的影響。報名從即日起至5月14日截止。

主辦單位表示﹐此次繪畫主題是家,比賽分為幼童組4-6歲、中童組7-10歲及高童組11-15歲。參賽作品請使用11×14吋素描紙,限彩色。請於作品背面註明姓名、年齡、生日、地址、電話於5月14日之前交至法拉盛角聲中心(39-07 王子街4樓4J)或寄至Garden of Hope, P.O. Box 520048 Flushing, NY 11352。

聖荷西台灣同鄉聯誼會第十九屆兒童繪畫比賽辦法

美國中文電視《僑報》《僑報週刊》聯合主辦母親節繪畫比賽頌母愛

去年《僑報》、《美洲時報》聯合主辦了2006年的“我愛我家”母親節徵文比賽,投稿者近有居住華人集中地的法拉盛、中國城,遠則來自中國大陸及世界各地。贊助商非常踴躍,獎品豐富,反映熱烈,在華人地區造成轟動。

今年母親節又將到來,美國中文電視將與《僑報》、《僑報週刊》聯合主辦母親節繪畫比賽。
繪畫比賽題目為“母親”。活動宗旨是通過母親的光輝形象。作品範圍是以當母親的女性為對象,通過肖像、背影、信物等來突出母親的形象。

參賽年齡為:兒童組:4歲-10歲,少年組:11歲-17歲,成人組 18歲以上。
截稿時間:2007年5月5日。

參賽繪畫形式不限,油畫、粉彩、水墨、工筆、卡通等均可。
作品規格為11吋×14吋。

比賽程式:初賽每組選出十三名優勝者進入復賽,其作品將陸續在美國中文電視、《僑報》、《僑報週刊》上刊出;決賽每組選出一等獎、二等獎、三等獎,並將在以上媒體刊登作品及作者介紹。

頒獎時間2007年5月12日(星期六)下午1時,頒獎地點是亞洲文化中心(15 E 40th Street,2 Floor,New York,NY 10016)。

2007 CONTEST THEME – "Conservation’s Power"

Energy saved by no-till farming practices, solar, wind, alternative fuel sources, renewable versus non-renewable resources, conservation at home, and partnerships with conservation districts, communities and families working together.

作品規格﹕
1. 海報尺寸不得超於 20"x24"或小於 13”x20”.
2. 不可寫上任何語言的文字在 海報上.
3. 可用鉛筆,蠟筆,有色筆著色,如用粉筆者,請噴上保護光 澤的釉彩, 以免損毀)
4. 在作品上請勿黏貼任何膠水, 膠紙或訂書針.
5. 不能使用相片代替, 寄時請勿折.
6. 每人只能選擇一張作品為代表, 不得假借他人之幫忙.
7. 報名費,每張海報十元.
8. 請在寄來海報的後面寫上兒童姓名, 生日, 學校, 父母姓名, 地址, 电話, EMAIL.
9. 參賽的海報屬于國際獅子會, 恕不退還.若有海報遺失或受損, 非獅會 之責.

比賽分三組﹕A 組十四歲以上, B 組十一至十三歲, C 組十歲或以 下, 每組前三名都有獎品. 所有初賽得獎者名單將於十月底公佈, 並刊登於中文報紙以及本 獅子會報刊內.此外,另選三 名(年齡十一到十三歲者, 生日日期由 Nov 16, 1993 至 Nov 15, 1996)將代表本會參加獅子會 本地區的比賽.如能通過三關 (本獅 會初賽,本地 區 賽,新澤西州比賽), 就能進入國際決賽, 共挑選二十四名. 頭獎者將榮獲獎金$2500, 一個特別的獎牌以及與兩位家屬一起被邀請到 (United Nations, New York City) 舉行的2007年獅子日領獎,另外二十三名國際優勝者, 每名可得$500及獎狀乙紙.

The 2007 New Jersey Lions Peace Poster Contest

The Edison Metro Lions Club of New Jersey proudly sponsors its 2nd annual New Jersey Children
Peace Poster Contest. With this year's theme "Peace Around the World", the contest is an
exceptional opportunity for children around the world to share their vision of peace. It is open to
students under the age of 19. Posters must be submitted no later than October 15, 2007. Please
include your poster with an enrollment fee by check payable to “Edison Metro Lions Club”, and
mail it to Linnie Hui, 1221 Inwood Terrace, Fort Lee, NJ 07024.

The contest will be divided into three groups: Group A – ages 14 to 18; Group B - ages 11 to 13;
Group C – ages 10 and below. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third winners of each
group.

The contest rules and conditions are:
1. All posters must have dimensions no smaller than 13 inches by 20 inches and no larger than 20 inches by 24 inches. Do not mat or frame artwork.
2. Words or numbers in any language are not allowed on the front of the poster. Place name, address, birth date, school, parent or guardian name, and phone/email on the back of poster.
3. Pencils, crayons, pens, markers, paints or chalk may be used. (Chalk, charcoal or pastel entries should be sealed with a fixative spray to prevent smearing.)
4. No three-dimensional entries. Nothing may be glued, taped, stapled or attached to the poster in any way. Entries cannot be laminated. All entries must be flexible enough to be rolled up for shipping in a mailing tube. Do not fold poster.
5. No photographs may be used.
6. Each student may submit only one entry, and each entry must be the original work of only one
student.
7. 7. All entries become the property of Lions Clubs International upon receipt. No entries will be
returned. Participants accept all responsibility for late, lost, misdirected or illegible entries. Lions Clubs International is not responsible for entries damaged, destroyed or lost during the judging process.
8. Enrollment fee is $10.00 per entry. Entries will not be processed without the fee.

Winners will be notified by the Lions club, and their names will be submitted to local newspapers. Winners' posters will be exhibited at the award ceremony and also printed on the Edison Metro Lions Club’s newsletter. Three winners from group B, ages 11 through 13 with eligible birth dates from November 16, 1993 through November 15, 1996, will be selected to advance to the district semifinals, where they will have a chance to progress to the multiple districts and to the international semifinals, in which 24 finalists will be awarded. Our Lions District 16D has already produced four international merit award winners in the past few years. For a sample of previous winning posters, please go to www.lionsclubs.org. The international grand prize winner will receive US $2,500, a special commemorative plaque, and a trip for the artist and two family members to the United Nations in New York City. The 23 international merit award winners will each receive US $500 and a framed certificate. In 2006, a New Jersey winner has won the merit award again (Top 24 in the world).

中華民國第三十八屆世界兒童畫展

美國地區作品比賽徵集辦法

中華民國兒童美術教育學會即將於本(2007)年10月16日至31日在臺北舉行「中華民國第38屆世界兒童畫展」。本組將甄選紐約地區兒童畫作60幅, 送請國內評核.
敬請參考中、英文版比賽辦法如附檔, 倂請於本年3月13 日(星期二)前將作品送交本組(地址:1, East 42nd Street, 6th Floor, New York, NY10017/ 電話:212-317-7388)。可親自(或由親友代送)或以郵寄方式送交本組. 屆時本組將邀集專家進行評選, 再將獲選之60幅畫作寄請國內評核. 此項比賽得獎作品之獎勵類別包括「特優獎」、「優選獎」及「佳作獎」等。
